Residenz Soliva means wonderful contrasts between old and new, between inside and outside, between light and shadow. The almost 100-year-old Engadin farmhouse was completely renovated in 1999 and now combines seven individually designed holiday apartments under one roof. Il Residence Soliva is located between Sils Baslegia and Sils-Maria in a quiet and excellent location with a view of the Val Fex and the magical lake of Sils. The tastefully and functionally furnished apartments offer space to linger, the practically furnished kitchens awaken the desire for culinary creations and those who are looking for variety are welcome at the Hotel Chesa Randolina. In the well-kept garden with old trees you have a well-kept lawn. They were all inspired by the fantastic expanse and the magical light of Sils: writers like Nietzsche, Dürrenmatt and Kästner, artists like Beuys or Chagall and musicians like Strauss, Honegger and David Bowie. In doing so, they made a significant contribution to the fact that Sils is now known worldwide as the cultural center of the Engadine. With just 750 inhabitants, Sils is contemplative, familiar, and welcoming. The guests appreciate the relaxed tranquility in a wonderful landscape, which offers an enriching control over everyday life, as well as the calm style of Sils hotels, guest houses and holiday apartments. And they automatically become part of a tradition that is not only celebrated here, but also lived and contributes a lot to the authentic holiday feeling. If you look at the seemingly limitless expanse of the Sils valley and the deep blue lake, you will understand Hermann Hesse, who once referred to the area as a "paradise of dreams". The village is idyllically situated between Lake Sils and Lake Silvaplana and is at the entrance to Val Fex, dotted with meadows of flowers and becomes a magically romantic experience in a carriage ride. Those who are even higher will find varied and promising routes for hikes and mountain tours on the Furtschellas.
