Particularly eye-catching is the bright and beautiful living area with open kitchen and brilliant view, dining table, sofa corner and reading armchair as well as the tasteful furnishings. The fully equipped kitchen leaves nothing to be desired (cheese-fondue set, raclette/crêpes set, dishwasher, coffee machine (NESPRESSO), refrigerator/freezer, glass ceramic stove, oven, steamer/steam stove, dough-mixer, kettle). The first room is equipped with a queen size bed (160x200cm) and with a comfortable bunk bed (90x200cm). In the bedroom with dressing room and attached bathroom there is a romantic four-poster bed (160x200cm). In the living room, the sofa can be turned into a queen size bed (140x200cm) in a few simple steps. The apartment has two bathrooms. Both bathrooms are spacious, equipped with rain shower, respectively with corner bathtub, toilet with shower function, hairdryer and sink. A baby crib or baby-chair can be provided on request. The apartment is wheelchair accessible. The bathrooms are also equipped with plenty of circulation space. From the balcony (17 sqm) with table and lounge chairs you can fully enjoy the panorama. Board games, books, CD player are available. WIFI internet is available. The apartment ventilation can be switched on and off individually.
A ski and storage room for bicycles is located in the basement. The apartment has its own underground parking space and an outdoor parking space. An own washing machine/dryer are available in the basement compartment. Pets are not allowed. Non-smoking apartment.
The net proceeds from the rental of the Fortaleza apartment will benefit the youth center in Mekelle (northern Ethiopia). Mr. and Mrs. Hässig worked in this center for several months and visit it regularly. Every day up to 700 young people come to this center and are supported. Urgently needed due to high unemployment and since November 2020 also warlike violence.

The panorama over the mountains and the lake is impressive and incomparable! Fortaleza, the name of a Brazilian city, means castle, fortress. Like the city of Fortaleza, our apartment stands above Lake Walen (Walensee) and sometimes above the sea of fog. The exclusive 3-room vacation apartment is part of a modern apartment building (low-energy, "Minergy"-style construction). It is located 2 km above the village center and is directly accessible from the parking lot (handicapped accessible). From the balcony you can enjoy relaxing evenings with beautiful sunsets. Up to 8 people can use this apartment together and share happy, unforgettable joint experiences. The nearest ski lift is within walking distance or one bus stop further up (600m; "Sell" ski lift). By car or local bus you are in the middle of the family-friendly ski and hiking area Amden-Arvenbüel in a few minutes.
Due to its unique location between the Mediterranean-like shores of Lake Walen and the wild mountain peaks, Amden offers a wealth of leisure activities. For example, don't miss an invigorating swim on a summer evening in the refreshing Walensee. Magnificent mountain peaks can be easily climbed and an abundance of delightful hiking tours are waiting to be discovered. In winter, the small but fine skiing area of Amden with the well-known Swiss ski school, mainly easy slopes, cross-country skiing trails, natural ice rink, indoor swimming pool and numerous winter hiking trails will delight you.
Amden is very conveniently situated. Amden is extremely easy to reach by public transport: For example, in only 80 minutes from Zurich main station, every half hour!
