Those who come to Casa Vecchia embark on a short journey back in time to Ticino 400 years ago. The old walls with the typical winding room layout have been faithfully preserved. The charming kitchen utensils, mirrors, lamps, curtains and decorations also make nostalgic hearts beat faster. Quietly and idyllically situated on a south-facing slope, with a marvellous view over Lake Maggiore, you can spend unforgettable hours here far away from tourist standards.
The best months for travelling to Casa Vecchia are March to October, as there is no comprehensive heating here. On cool evenings, you can enjoy the warmth in front of the large fireplace on the ground floor. Only the bathroom on the first floor is heated electrically.

Room layout
The rustic kitchen with cosy dining area is located on the ground floor of Casa Vecchia. The upper two floors, each with a bedroom and balcony, can only be reached via the steep external staircase. From the eat-in kitchen, you step directly into the garden under the pergola and reach a seating area surrounded by palm trees.

- Go on an adventurous hike through the dense forests in the surrounding area
- Conquer the mountains of Cardada by cable car and on foot and enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the whole of Lake Maggiore and the Alps from Cimetta
- Refresh yourself in the wellness park in Locarno or in the Lido on the lake
- Visit the Madonna del Sasso in Orselina - one of the most important religious and historical sites in the canton of Ticino

The house is ten minutes by car from Locarno and Tenero, but can also be easily reached by public transport. The bakery, a small grocery shop and various local restaurants are within walking distance. The nearest bus stop is just under 500 metres away.
