The Riederalp is a family-friendly, car-free summer and winter holiday resort in the Upper Valais, located on a sunny high plateau in the middle of a park-like landscape at almost 2000 m above sea level, offers access to the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Alps on the Aletsch Glacier and an impressive view of the Matterhorn. Even if you spend your holidays in the Aletsch Arena on the car-free Riederalp, you can easily arrive by car. The Furka car transport takes you all year round through the Furka tunnel from Oberwald to Realp or vice versa. The journey takes almost 20 minutes and allows you to save time compared to the 45-minute journey over the Furka Pass. In Mörel, a multi-storey car park with 440 parking spaces is integrated into the Riederalp valley station of the Aletsch Bahnen. The Aletsch Bahn takes you and your luggage by gondola lift to the "Riederalp West" mountain station within 20 minutes. If you have more than hand luggage, you can also use a luggage trolley (like at the airport), which reaches the mountain station at the same time with a separate luggage gondola.
