Description of the holiday rental

Vacation in architectural monument combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model provides a double benefit: the monuments are given a revitalised future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the ‘Vacation in architectural monument’ foundation, which was set up by the Swiss Heritage Society in 2005.

Public transport: From Schaffhausen railway station to Neunkirch railway station, 3 minutes on foot in the direction of the old town.

By car: Motorway A4 from Winterthur, from Schaffhausen Klettgau (direction Basel), Neunkirch Altstadt.

Car park: There is no car park at the house. Blue zone parking spaces (with guest parking card). You can drive up to the house to unload your luggage.

Number of persons 2-4: 1 room with two beds (bed: 90/200). 1 bedroom with two beds (90X200) cannot be heated with the stove in winter. Baby cot and chair available on request.

Season: All year round

Short holidays: All year round

Outdoor space: A small cosy forecourt in front of the house with table and chairs for 4 people.

Heating: The flat is heated by the two stoves. There is underfloor heating in the bathroom.

Stove / fireplace: Tiled stove and seating can be heated from the wood-burning cooker. According to the description ‘proper firing’ - please only heat after instruction.

WLAN: Is available

Pets are allowed: Pets are allowed

Altitude: 429 metres above sea level.

Kitchen: Electric rechaud with 2 hotplates as well as wood cooker and oven, 1 Moca (screw coffee) available.

Bathroom: One bathroom with shower, WC, washbasin. Hairdryer available.

Washing machine: none.

Extras: The flat is located on the edge of the town, so the noise level can be a little higher. The stairs are generally steep. Standard railings are available. We would like to point out that this can be a source of danger. There is a museum corner in the entrance area which contains many interesting facts about the Baderhaus and the small town of Neunkirch.

Important addition:
The ‘Baderhaus’ is a historic house, a listed building. Although it is technically equipped to modern standards, we would like to point out that certain functional details such as window and door openers, stair handrails and step heights do not comply with current standards and could be a potential source of danger. The tenant is aware of these circumstances. The owner, e-domizil and the Vacation in architectural monument foundation decline any liability.
