Chalet Piccolo - the bijou
Overview
Description of the holiday rental
Our ancestors' house is hidden between trees. The loving furnishings date back to around 1880 - thanks to the renovated kitchen and bathroom, we don't have to do without any comfort. After a trip, enjoy the sunset on the terrace, watch the squirrels from a comfortable armchair, let the children play around the house - everyone can find inspiration and relaxation in this cozy place.
The charming Chalet Piccolo (100m2) stands free on a large meadow on the edge of the forest above the village in a very quiet location. The wooden terrace with a view of the Julier Range runs around the entire front and is closed off by a railing - ideal for children. You can also sit around the house on the sunny bench or in the shade of the trees if you wish.Sometimes you can even see deers.
Furnishings: Living/dining room, separate kitchen with oven, 2 double bedrooms, bathroom with shower and toilet. Electric storage heaters in all rooms.
Special: The chalet is not located directly on the road, you can reach the house on foot via a hiking trail (approx. 5 minutes climb). Luggage must be carried up. There is a reserved parking space on the street (Via Giarsun).
Excursion possibilities: What mountains. What lakes. What light! Whether on the 580km (360 miles) of hiking paths strewn over all the mountains or by mountain bike along 400km (250 miles) of fabulous trails: the Upper Engadin offers a superb network of paths and trails amidst an unspoilt Alpine landscape and the inspiring lake plateau. Three flow trails on the Corviglia guarantee a perfect flow. Equally popular among sports enthusiasts are the Upper Engadin lakes; kiting, sailing, windsurfing, stand up paddling – the possibilities are virtually endless. The expanse of the inspiring high-lying valley can be experienced in a particularly striking way on the two 18-hole golf courses in Samedan and Zuoz. And besides the wide range of sporting options, visitors can take advantage of the first-class cultural activities on offer, such as a visit to a museum or to one of the numerous art galleries in the various villages.
In winter, the ski areas of Corviglia, Corvatsch, Diavolezza and family-friendly Zuoz invite ski and snowboard enthusiasts to revel in 350 kilometres (218 miles) of the finest powder snow. Cross-country skiers will find over 220km (137 miles) of perfectly groomed trails in the Upper Engadin and the side valleys. The winter hiking paths and cross-country ski trails on the frozen Upper Engadin lakes are characterised by their light, sunshine and space amidst inspiring Alpine scenery. Those who would like to enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the snow-covered forests can explore the side valleys of Val Roseg, Val Fex or Val Bever on 150 kilometres (90 miles) of winter hiking paths. Visitors who prefer to have everything in view, meanwhile, will delight in the breathtaking vistas on the panorama hiking trails high above the lakes on Muottas Muragl.
Families can bask in the Engadin sun during a ride in a horse-drawn carriage into the Val Roseg or Val Fex, or race down the mountainside into the valley on the winding, 4.2km (2.6 mile) long toboggan run on Muottas Muragl.
