Charming and unique detached house in a quiet location on the edge of the forest above Silvaplana. Spacious living room with fireplace, comfortable seating, dining area and direct access to the garden. Separate, well-equipped kitchen. One double bedroom and one bedroom with two bunk beds. Two bathrooms – one with bathtub, one with shower – both with WC and washbasin. Additional guest WC. Internet available, no TV. Garage, with car charging station, and outdoor parking. Washing machine and tumble dryer. Ski boot, ski clothing and hiking clothing drying cabinet in the garage. Non-smoking house. No parties, events or commercial photos allowed.
Four-wheel drive is essential in winter! A Fiat Panda with spikes can be provided if required.
HOUSE DESCRIPTION
Acla Albanatscha, a Maiensäss (traditional Alpine summer dwelling) from the early 18th century, is idyllically and secludedly situated above Silvaplana in the Engadin, just a few minutes’ drive from St. Moritz. Access is via a rising gravel road through the forest, which occasionally opens up views of Lake Silvaplana, Corvatsch, and small waterfalls.
From the west side, you can enjoy views of Piz Margna; looking east, the view sweeps toward Corviglia and Muottas Muragl. To the south rises Corvatsch, to the north Albana, while the Julier Road remains pleasantly visible in the distance.
Depending on the season, the surroundings are characterized by blooming alpine meadows, pastures, golden larches, or a snowy winter landscape. With a bit of luck, you may spot marmots, deer, or even a fox.
Access is via a gravel road. In winter, all-wheel drive is required; in icy conditions, snow chains or lighter vehicles are advantageous. There is a winter road service, but the road and some sections may still be difficult to drive on at times. Therefore, a walk to or from Silvaplana should always be considered as an option. Alternatively, cars can be parked in the Munterots parking garage. In snow and icy conditions, driving at walking speed and braking carefully is important. Particularly tricky are the first few meters after the turnoff from Via dal Güglia and the section between the electrical cabin and Acla Albanatscha.
