Description of the holiday rental
The Kalu-Gädi is our jewel with a spectacular view in a quiet location.
The building is a former grain barn from the Upper Valais, which we had rebuilt in 2008 in the Winkelmatten district of Zermatt on a beautiful plot of land. Only old wood was used for the lovingly crafted interior, which fits perfectly into the 5 x 4.5 metre exterior dimensions.
The barn has 2 floors. The kitchen, the dining area and the beds are on the upper floor. The kitchen is state of the art with an induction cooker and combi team. The lower bed is 1.40 m wide, the two upper beds 1 m each. The floors are connected by an internal spiral staircase. The bathroom located on the ground floor fulfils all wishes. Directly next to the bathroom is a small living room with sofa, armchair and TV as well as direct exit to the outdoor seating area, which is at the exclusive disposal of the tenants. A barbecue is available for cosy barbecue evenings.
The upstairs is heated exclusively by the wood-fired soapstone stove, the living room and bathroom on the ground floor are equipped with underfloor heating. Our Bijou is normally only accessible via the "green meadow", due to the hillside location an athletic constitution of the tenants is advantageous. However, tenants can also use a tunnel for access to the Kalunghi, which leads from Staldenstrasse directly to the Chalet Kalunghi below.
