Description of the holiday rental

Holidays in a listed building combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model provides a double benefit: the monuments are given a revitalised future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the ‘Vacation in architectural monument’ foundation, which was set up by the Swiss Heritage Society in 2005.

Public transport: Bus 315 from Locarno, Stazione to Maggia, Centro

Car park: public car park by the church

Number of persons 4: A cot is available on request (up to 2 years). The house can accommodate four guests. The floors are made of wood and stone, so we recommend good slippers.

Season: All year round

Short holidays: None

Outdoor space: The outdoor space is also partly used by the residents. The path to the roof terrace leads via the outdoor area of Casa Portico.

Heating: Two modern wood-burning stoves - guests heat themselves with wood.

Stove/Cheminée: Wood-burning stoves in the living room and dining room plus fireplace in the living room.

WLAN: Is available

Open: All year round

Pets: Pets are allowed on request

Altitude: 317 metres above sea level.

Other bedroom furnishings: The bedroom is separated from the other rooms by a curtain.

Other kitchen equipment: Ceramic hob, the coffee machine is a Moca. You will need ground coffee.

The listed building has been equipped with modern sanitary and kitchen facilities for everyday comfort. In order to preserve the historic building fabric, no heating has been installed, which is why the house is heated by wood-burning stoves. Slippers and warm clothes are therefore an advantage and should be brought along.

IMPORTANT ADDITION
The ‘Ca’ di Bifúi’ is a listed building that has been renovated with great respect for the existing fabric. The tenants are aware of this and treat the property with care. Although it is technically equipped to modern standards, certain functional details such as window and door openers, stair handrails and step heights do not meet current standards and are a potential source of danger. Particular reference should be made here to the narrow, steep external staircase, which is a source of danger for people with limited mobility or small children. The tenants are aware of these circumstances. The owner, e-domizil and the foundation Vacation in architectural monument disclaim any liability.
