Description of the holiday rental
The chalet includes, on the upper level, a fully-equiped kitchen open to a spacious dining and living area. In the winter, a wood-burning stove adds to the warmth of the space. In summer, with the doors and windows open onto the balcony, you have a panoramic view of the Vallée d’Illiez. On the same floor, there is a bathroom with bath and shower. The floors are linked by a larch-wood stairway.
On the lower level, from a large stone-paved entry, you will find a bathroom with bath / shower; a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer; a large double bedroom and a smaller bedroom with bunk beds. The entry also leads to a small equiped kitchen, a living room with a traditional wood-burning stove, as well as two bedrooms: one double, the other with a double bed and bunks (providing bedding for a maximum of eight people). This floor gives directly onto the “auvent”, a covered terrace.
Chalet Frassonayaz is a family-owned chalet built in the beginning of the 19th century and restored in 2008, preserving the charm of a mountain chalet. It is situated in the middle of a field of flowers close to the waterfalls of the Torrent du Soi. The walking path to the heights of the Dents du Midi by the Signal de Soi or Antème climbs close to the chalet.
By car, it is five minutes to the village of Val d’Illiez, ten minutes to Champèry and twenty minutes to Monthey and the motorway exit of St. Triphon. Val d’Illiez is on the AOMC trainline from Aigle and the Postal bus takes you up to the vast ski and VTT area of the Portes du Soleil. In the village you will find a doctor and medical emergency centre; a chemist; a grocery and bakery, several restaurants and a petrol station.
