Village description: Meistersrüti is a small village between Appenzell and Gais and is also a meeting place - named after the Appenzell railway stop. It lies 927 metres above sea level and is 2.5 km from Appenzell and 3 km from Gais. The AB (train) St.Gallen - Appenzell runs in both directions every 1/2 hour. in the bakery next to the stop you will be spoilt with crispy breads, Appenzell specialities and dairy products. The well-known dulcimer maker Fuchs is a local resident and a great starting point for hikes. For example: Clanx ruins (Appenzell castle), Hoher Hirschberg, Gäbris, Sommersberg, Leimensteig etc.
