This great and cozy vacation apartment, above Lake Brienz, extends over two floors. The unique view from the balcony pays off every day, you will return with fresh energy. The open kitchen is bright and friendly and has electric stove with oven and refrigerator with freezer. The entire house has underfloor and central heating, plus a wood-burning stove for chilly evenings in this great vacation apartment. The ascent to the second floor is only possible via a small, steep staircase. Here you will find a gallery room and another bedroom with 2 mattresses on the floor. (Tall people cannot stand upright on this floor). A garage space is reserved for you in the basement of the house. Access to the house is only possible via a small mountain road. Axalp can be reached by post bus or car in 35 minutes from Brienz.
If you are looking for peace and quiet, but not a fairground in front of the house, but want to enjoy the proximity of Lake Brienz and the mountains, Axalp is exactly the right place for you. Pack your swimming trunks, because the Hinterburgsee is waiting for your visit. In the midst of an idyllic landscape and in front of an enchanting backdrop, the lake invites you to jump into the cool water or simply have a great picnic or barbecue. A multitude of hiking and mountain trails are already waiting to be explored in the Axalp region. A hiking trail of a special kind is the "Schnitzlerweg". On the adventure hiking trail you will meet about 100 figures carved out of wood. The approximately 1-hour hike with partly steep passages and turnstiles (of cattle herders) ends at Hinterbugsee and leads through a varied alpine landscape. Another attraction is the Swiss Air Force's annual airshow in late autumn, the aviation arts are worth seeing. At the Ballenberg Heimatwerk course center ? located on the outskirts of Hofstetten in the valley ? handicraft as well as arts and crafts courses are offered. The school imparts knowledge and skills about traditional working and manufacturing techniques, which you can also put into practice in everyday life in a very practical way. Bathing and water sports enthusiasts and other water rats will find the perfect recreation in the very nearby and clean Lake Brienz.
