Description of the holiday rental
From 500 you can rent a pretty little 2.5-room holiday flat in the Alpine Village. The Alpine Village is a holiday resort on the southern edge of the Lauchernalp at an altitude of just under 2000 metres above sea level and only a little below the mountain station of the cable car. It can be reached by cable car in winter and also by car in summer via a road from Wiler Lötschental, which requires a permit. The resort is located directly on the ski piste and is easy to reach on skis in winter. The sunny ski area offers 55 km of pistes up to 3,111 metres above sea level and opens up a very special freeride area. Lauchernalp is just as popular with active skiers from beginners to ‘pros’ as it is with families with small children, snowboarders and friends of white splendour. The ‘Cool School’ snow sports school offers courses at various levels and - for the very youngest guests - childcare. Surrounded by the imposing mountain scenery of the UNESCO World Heritage Site with 40 four-thousand-metre peaks, you can reach the fantastic slopes of the Lauchernalp with its perfectly groomed pistes by cable car, 6-seater chairlift (opened in Dec. 2017), two ski lifts and a glacier lift (up to the Hockenhorngrat at 3,111 metres above sea level). Lauchernalp is very popular with ski mountaineers. In the direction of Petersgrat or Gitzifurka, there are numerous opportunities for off-piste skiing. A 35-kilometre cross-country ski trail runs through the entire Lötschental valley up to the Fafleralp and various toboggan runs in the midst of the magnificent winter landscape provide plenty of variety. In addition, 50 kilometres of marked winter hiking trails and a snowshoe trail await winter sports enthusiasts. Other highlights include the weekly night skiing and the cross-country skiing tour under a full moon.
In summer, the Lötschental is one of the most beautiful hiking areas in Valais with its unique mountain-valley panorama and the imposing valley end of the Alps. With 200 kilometres of marked hiking trails, the Lötschental is a paradise for pleasure hikers. The refreshing and energising mountain air in the Lötschental also makes hiking an experience for body and soul. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, you will find inviting places to linger. Far away from mass tourism, the Lötschental offers you a marvellous retreat from the stresses of everyday life. The most beautiful hiking and climbing routes in Valais lie in the midst of unspoilt nature. Crystal-clear mountain lakes invite you to swim, the numerous chapels, churches and wayside shrines create space for contemplative moments along the way and the unspoilt flora and fauna will make the hearts of all nature lovers beat faster. With around 200 km of marked hiking trails, exciting bike trails, guided glacier tours and climbing routes of all levels of difficulty, the Lötschental is a dream for active holidaymakers. In the Riedhaltä bird sanctuary, while fishing in wild mountain streams or at the barbecue area on the Lauchernalp with its unique views over the mountains and valley, you can recover perfectly from the exertions of an eventful hike.
