Description of the holiday rental

Vacation in architectural monument combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model offers a double benefit: the monuments are given a new future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the foundation Vacation in architectural monument (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Heritage Society.

Car park: The car park is right next to the house and is not covered. Access to the house is guaranteed.

Public transport: Take the Zentralbahn train from Lucerne in the direction of Sarnen/Brünig. From Sarnen take the post bus to St. Niklausen Post. There you can request a shuttle service from the guest carers.

Number of persons 4-5: An old wooden cot (up to 2 years) and a high chair are available. The house can accommodate five guests (plus baby). The holiday flat is located on the two upper floors on two levels. The large eat-in kitchen with dining table, the cosy living room with a sofa bed for one person and a bathroom with bathtub and toilet are located on the 2nd floor. There are two double bedrooms on the top floor above. The bedrooms are equipped with heating. The floors are made of wood, which is why we recommend good slippers.
Garden: The grounds encompass the entire home. A seating area next to the entrance allows you to spend time outdoors. Next to the house is a cowshed with hayloft. Out of consideration for the animals and for fire safety reasons, we ask you not to smoke anywhere on the farm. 

WLAN: Is available.

Open: The house can be rented all year round.

Pets: Pets are not allowed.

Altitude: 835 metres above sea level.

IMPORTANT ADDITION
The Grosshostett is a listed building that has been renovated with great respect for the existing fabric. The tenant is aware of this and treats the property with care. Although the technical equipment is up to date, certain functional details do not meet current standards and are a potential source of danger. The tenant is aware of these circumstances. The owner, e-domizil and the Vacation in architectural monument foundation disclaim any liability.
