Exclusive architectural chalet in a great location
Overview
Description of the holiday rental
The CHALET-2-SPHÈRES is a decidedly exclusive holiday home in an unusually beautiful location. The name 'Chalet-2-Spheres' is derived from an upper floor dating from 1688, renovated in 2013, and a decidedly modern lower floor. These two very different spheres are strongly accentuated in the interior design. The view from the chalet is of the Dent d'Hérens (4,171 m) to the south and a mountain range between 2,500 and 3,700 m to the west.
The chalet is classified 4-STERN by the Swiss Tourism Federation.
ARCHITECTURE: The chalet was newly built in 2013 by one of the best-known architects in Valais, Anako Architecture. The special architecture received a 4-page article in a specialist magazine at the time, which can be requested on request.
HOUSE: With 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, ideal for 4 people. Possible for up to 6 people with extra mattresses. On the upper floor large living area with 37 square metres, up to 3.20 m high and large windows. See floor plans and photos.
LOCATION: The chalet impresses with its very unusual unobstructed view to the south-west and west. The optimal south-west exposure guarantees sun from morning to evening, even in winter. Particularly impressive is the very unobstructed view and the chalet's location 800 metres above the valley floor. The two large terraces next to the house give you the feeling of being in the middle of nature and the mountains.
PHOTOS: They are all real, so nothing has been 'added'. But they are also 'edited' in the usual way today. The scenes outside show special situations in different seasons. The photos will be available in a much higher resolution on our own homepage (currently still in progress).
The ANIMAL COLLECTION on the upper floor is not made up of hunting trophies, but of specimens such as those found in any natural history museum. They are used, i.e. already 'in the world', regardless of whether they are now on display in the chalet. They are up to 120 years old. In my opinion, taxidermy is a special honour for the animal, because nature has by no means intended such a prominent continued existence.
FEEDBACKS: On two other platforms, a total of 90 feedbacks with a consistently positive basic tenor have been collected since the first rental in 2021.
And since 2015, we have been running the CHALET AVANTGARDE holiday home in Törbel, near Visp/Zermatt, with over 170 feedbacks listed on the easy-to-find homepage. This is the highest number of feedbacks recorded in the whole of Valais with around 4,000 holiday properties on offer. There is no doubt that the approach of the CHALET-2-SPHÈRES is to provide guests with a similarly convincing holiday experience.
FRENCH language: The chalet is located in the French-speaking area of Valais, but English or German will get you by just fine.
WINTER: There is no ski area in the immediate vicinity, but there are 3 medium-sized and one very large one within 25 to 40 minutes' drive: Quatre Vallées, the largest ski area in Switzerland, is 25 minutes away, Evolène 25 minutes, Nax 30 minutes and Arolla 40 minutes. The ski season in Evolène and Nax lasts until around 20 March, in Arolla and Quatre Vallées until mid-April.
SPRING / SUMMER: From the end of March to the beginning of May it is very beautiful on clear days, but there is still no green growth = a quiet time. From the beginning of May, spring awakens with vigour. Beautiful hiking trails, both flat and steeper, are in the immediate vicinity of the chalet.
A special feature are three alpine settlements located above the chalet, which are connected to each other by a mountain path - these Alps are truly 'straight out of a picture book'! (The photos only show it to a limited extent.) A guest encountered there in summer 2020 said only 3 sentences, quote: "C'est incroyable. C'est incroyable. C'est incroyable!"
The Val d'Hérens is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful valleys in Switzerland, possibly the most beautiful valley in Valais in this respect. The Evoléne holiday region was named the best destination in western Switzerland in 2012. The Alps are open from 20 June to mid-September, the Alpage de Mase from the beginning of May to the end of October.
AUTUMN: From mid-October, the larches turn gold - a spectacle of colour that is almost unbelievable in its intensity! The peak of the concentrated luminosity is from around 20 October to 10 November. The larches are still beautifully coloured until 20/25 Nov. Also in Nov. + Dec. often beautiful and clear days with the best view of the now snow-covered mountains all around, and very quiet.
The chalet has a good LIBRARY and a selection of Bluray films and CDs for bad weather (rare in Valais) and evenings.
Wine: The chalet has 11 very good local wines for guests to choose from.
COMPLETE PRICE without FINAL CLEANING: the price quoted is always a complete price including e.g. heating, electricity, towels and linen. The only thing not included is the final cleaning, which is charged at 130 SFr, regardless of the rental period.
LAST-MINUTE: If the chalet is not booked 14 days before the usual start of the rental period (= Saturdays), there is a 25% discount,
35% if it is not booked 7 days before the usual start of the rental period.
SHORT-TERM RENT: If the chalet is not booked 6 days before the usual start of the rental period, a short-term rental of at least 3 days is possible. The price is then the number of days multiplied by 1/7 of the regular weekly rent. However, a combination of last-minute and short-term hire is not possible. Simply enquire.
DEPOSIT: 25% of the rental price. The remaining 75% THREE weeks before the start of your holiday.
ACCESS: Public road to the chalet, which is also reliably cleared in winter. No need for 4x4, no snow chains required on 98% of winter days. Public transport to Saint Martin from Sion every two hours all year round.
GARAGE: 1 covered car parking space belongs to the chalet, so no problem with snow in winter and heating up in summer. Plus a second car parking space in the immediate vicinity.
Other living room furnishings (living room 1): The living room houses an exquisite exhibition of 30 specimens of wild animals, some of which are of museum quality. Furthermore, an extraordinary system with a 75-inch TV and high-quality speakers for films and CDs. The TV is hidden in a wooden box under the large panoramic television and is therefore not visible in the photos.
