Chalet Sunnerain Ground Floor and Garden Floor ideal for up to 7 persons

Beautiful, comfortable and high quality equipped holiday apartment on the ground and garden levels of a  traditional chalet. Suitable for 4-7 persons (8 if one person sleeps on a sofa bed in the living room). The chalet is constituted of 3 floors separated by a staircase (the top floor is rented out separately from this object). On the ground floor you find the master bedroom with a king size bed (180 cm) and TV (with apple TV box), as well as a bathroom with a big tub (with shower) and a closomat WC. Also located on the ground floor is the combined living and dining room with a wood burner and a very well equipped kitchen. On the Garden Floor, that is separated from the Ground floor by a staircase, the two addtional bedrooms (sleeping up to 5 persons) and a bathroom with a shower are located. The two bedrooms has bunkbeds with very comfortable matresses (90cm) and one of the bedrooms has an additional single bed (90 cm).  Quiet and centrally located in the car-free village of Mürren, Chalet Sunnerain is only 300 metres walking distance from the Schilthorn cable car with access to the ski and hiking area.  From the balcony you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Bernese Alps. There is also a garden with seating and barbecue available. The Chalet has a separate entrance area with plenty of space for coats and shoes as well as ski room. Washing machine and tumble dryer available (to be shared with the top floor guests).  The chalet is newly furnished (June 2020) and equipped to a high standard. 4+ stars classification by the Swiss Tourism Federation.

Location description:


Mürren – a former settlement of people from the Lötschen valley in the Valais, which still remains recognisable today from the design of the houses and the pronunciation of the Mürren dialect – is the highest, continually inhabited village settlement in the canton of Bern and lies on a terrace at 1650 metres, high above the Lauterbrunnen valley. A double-cable ropeway leads up onto the plateau from Lauterbrunnen, while a cableway runs from Stechelberg, past turbulent waterfalls and craggy rock faces, into the centre of the car-free village of Mürren, and further to the Schilthorn at 2970 metres.At the end of the 1960s, the makers of the Bond film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” were immediately taken by the futuristic revolving restaurant on the Schilthorn: the scenes involving the imaginary ‘Piz Gloria’ had to be shot here… The film became a great success, the Schilthorn cableway and the revolving restaurant equally so. The magnificent 360° panorama from the summit takes in the world-renowned Alpine triumvirate of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, reaching right to Mont Blanc and into the Black Forest.



Winter

The winter sports region of Mürren-Schilthorn has 53 km of prepared ski and snowboard pistes, toboggan runs and a network of winter walking trails. Beyond the Lauterbrunnen valley, a further 30 or so cableways and lifts, and 160 km of pistes in the other ski areas of the Jungfrau region can also be used. There is an 11 km cross-country ski trail in the valley between Stechelberg and Lauterbrunnen.


Summer

Impressive views of the opposing mountain summits can also be enjoyed from Mürren. The holiday resort is the starting point for walks (200 km of walking trails), excursions and experiences. A funicular leads to the Allmendhubel, immediately above the village at an altitude of 1907 metres. Themed walks such as the North Face Trail, providing historical mountaineering information on the north faces, and the Flower Panorama Trail invite visitors to discover the region. Playgrounds and picnic areas are provided for families with children.More demanding tours lead into the nature reserve at the rear of the Lauterbrunnen valley, as well as through the Sefinen valley and over the Sefinenfurgge pass into the neighbouring Kiental.
