Do you like spacious houses with rustic charm that are just plain cosy? If so, Chesa Surova is the place for you. Originally built as a farmhouse some 400 years ago it was Madulain's village inn until the early 1960's. While some modern conveniences have since been added, Chesa Surova's historical character has endured. Seven (non-smoking) bedrooms - four of them with hot running water, one with its own balcony - and 15 beds will accommodate your party. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower. The kitchen is equipped with six hot plates, two ovens, a dishwasher and a washing mashine. While the kids are riding their tricyles around the "sulèr" or building snowmen in the back yard you may either relax in the "stüvetta" or play a game of table tennis. Chesa Surova welcomes you with authentic Engadine hospitality.

Three flow trails on the Corviglia guarantee a perfect flow. Equally popular among sports enthusiasts are the Upper Engadin lakes; kiting, sailing, windsurfing, stand up paddling – the possibilities are virtually endless. The expanse of the inspiring high-lying valley can be experienced in a particularly striking way on the two 18-hole golf courses in Samedan and Zuoz. And besides the wide range of sporting options, visitors can take advantage of the first-class cultural activities on offer, such as a visit to a museum or to one of the numerous art galleries in the various villages.In winter, the ski areas of Corviglia, Corvatsch, Diavolezza and family-friendly Zuoz invite ski and snowboard enthusiasts to revel in 350 kilometres (218 miles) of the finest powder snow. Cross-country skiers will find over 220km (137 miles) of perfectly groomed trails in the Upper Engadin and the side valleys. The winter hiking paths and cross-country ski trails on the frozen Upper Engadin lakes are characterised by their light, sunshine and space amidst inspiring Alpine scenery. Those who would like to enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the snow-covered forests can explore the side valleys of Val Roseg, Val Fex or Val Bever on 150 kilometres (90 miles) of winter hiking paths. Visitors who prefer to have everything in view, meanwhile, will delight in the breathtaking vistas on the panorama hiking trails high above the lakes on Muottas Muragl.Families can bask in the Engadin sun during a ride in a horse-drawn carriage into the Val Roseg or Val Fex, or race down the mountainside into the valley on the winding, 4.2km (2.6 mile) long toboggan run on Muottas Muragl. Welcome to Engadin St. Moritz.
