In winter Samedan offers an ideal ski lift for the little ones above the village with slopes for first attempts on skis and snowboard or great toboggan rides. Experienced ski and snowboard instructors motivate your children in sporting and social activities. Thanks to well-developed rail and bus connections, the other ski areas in the region with their extensive network of pistes are quickly and easily accessible for demanding snow sports enthusiasts. There is also a direct downhill run from the Corviglia Marguns ski area back to Samedan. Snowboarding, carving, telemark and other winter sports trends can be practised side by side without hindrance and a variety of attractive performances invite you to watch. Those looking for wide, well-groomed cross-country ski trails will find ideal conditions in the Samedan landscape, while those seeking relaxation can let themselves be enchanted by the well-maintained winter hiking trails or completely abandon themselves to their inspiration on the Philosopher's Path on Muottas Muragl. Those who would like to enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the snow-covered forests can explore the side valleys of Val Roseg, Val Fex or Val Bever on 150 kilometres (90 miles) of winter hiking paths.
