The CHALET AVANTGARDE is a decidedly modern, exclusive holiday home in a sensationally beautiful location. Newly built in 2015.
The view from the chalet is directly onto 9 four-thousand metre peaks in 3 mountain ranges.
The chalet is classified 4-STERN by the Swiss Tourism Federation.
HOUSE: With 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms ideal for 4 people. Can accommodate up to 6 people with additional mattresses. Large living/dining area on the upper floor, up to 3.50 m high and with floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows facing south. See floor plans and photos.
PHOTOS: They are all real, so nothing has been 'added'. But they have also been 'edited' in the usual way today. The outdoor scenes show special situations of the different seasons. If you are interested, you can see the photos in a much higher resolution on our own homepage.
LOCATION: Embedded in an exclusive landscape at 1,800 metres, between Törbel (1,500 m) and Moosalp (2,045 m), the view extends 1,000 metres down into the Saas Valley or the Zermatt Valley. The absolute south-facing position guarantees sun from morning to evening. From the balcony of the chalet you can see three groups of four-thousand-metre peaks: the Weismies group (4,017 m) on the left, the Mischabel group with the Nadelhorn (4,327 m) and Dom (4,545 m) in the middle, and the Weisshorn (4,505 m) and Bishorn (4,153 m) on the right.
FEEDBACKS: 170 feedbacks are listed on our own, clearly organised homepage. This is the highest number of feedbacks recorded on any other platform in the whole of Valais with around 4,000 holiday properties on offer! Many feedbacks in English as well as in French and Dutch.
WINTER: The season in the Moosalp/Bürchen ski area (9 lifts, up to 2,550 m) runs from Christmas to 20 March. The ski area is 1,000 metres from the chalet, and a ski bus also runs occasionally. Ski passes are reasonably priced and there is the additional option of points cards.
Large ski areas in the neighbourhood: Grächen, Saas Grund each 30 min drive, Saas Fee 40 min and Zermatt 1 hour.
SPRING / SUMMER / AUTUMN: The period from the end of March to the beginning of May is characterised by peace and quiet. On clear days it is very beautiful, but no greenery is growing yet = a quiet time. From the beginning of May, spring awakens with vigour. Around 20 June, the cattle parade with cow fights. The federally protected alpine meadow next to the house is not mown until the beginning of July, so enjoy the sea of flowers until then. On the Moosalp, a nationally renowned hiking paradise, local festivals are regularly celebrated in August. Late summer begins with the cattle drive down from the alp around 10 Sept. The cows then stand in the meadows around the chalet so that you can enjoy the (moderate) ringing of the bells. From 20 Sept. to the beginning of Oct. the deer rut in the Bannwald forest below the Moosalp with impressive roaring. From the beginning/mid-October, the open larch forest turns gold - a spectacle of colour that is almost unbelievable in its intensity! The peak of the concentrated luminosity is from around 18 October to 10 November. From then until Christmas very quiet. Meanwhile in Nov. + Dec. often beautiful days, then clear with the best view of the now snow-covered mountains all around.

Wine: 11 very good regional wines are available in the chalet for guests to choose from.
ARCHITECTURE: The exterior design is orientated towards the local chalet style, but is detached from anything heavy, instead aiming for the principle of visual lightness. The resolute lightness is repeatedly expressed in convincing detailed solutions. The roof soffit and exterior louvres are each made of larch in exclusive craftsmanship by the Törbj carpenter. The interior fittings are characterised by an exclusive and explicitly modern-looking knotless Swiss larch wood, which has not yet been used in this consistent form in an Alpine chalet.
LAST-MINUTE: If the chalet is not booked 14 days before the usual start of the rental period (= Saturdays), there is a 25% discount; if it is not booked 7 days before, there is a 35% discount.
COMPLETE PRICE without FINAL CLEANING: the price quoted is always a complete price including e.g. heating, electricity, towels and linen. The only thing not included is the final cleaning, which is charged at 130 SFr, regardless of the rental period.
DEPOSIT: 25% of the rental price. The remaining 75% THREE weeks before the start of your holiday.
ACCESS: Public road to the chalet, which is also reliably cleared in winter. 4x4 not necessary, on 98% of winter days no snow chains are required.
Public transport to Törbel from Visp almost every hour all year round. During the season (Christmas to mid-March and early June to the end of October) a bus runs directly to the chalet.
GARAGE: the chalet has 2 garages, one for parking the car, the other for storing other things, e.g. skis. Both garages are 70 metres from the house, directly on the access road (no problem in winter with snow).

Excursions: A variety of excursions are possible in the surrounding area, but a car is clearly an advantage.

Description of the location: Traditional, old Valais village of Törbel. The house is in a secluded location, in the immediate vicinity there are 4 other holiday homes (district 'Zenspringen'). These other holiday homes are all approx. 100 m away, so that Chalet Avantgarde really stands alone in the large alpine meadow. 70 m walk from the house's own car park to the house. The path is not exactly flat, but not steep either.
