Zuoz with its approximately 1'300 inhabitants covers an area of 6'600 ha, 600 ha of which are forest. The municipality has about 1,400 flats, of which a good 600 are occupied by locals. The rest are managed holiday homes (approx. 10 %) and second homes (approx. 50 %). While the well-preserved village centre is home to venerable patrician houses, the other parts of the village are also home to modern Engadine houses with all modern conveniences.
