The Maiensäss is located above Siat, very quiet with a beautiful view of the mountains, surrounded by meadows and, in autumn, by our Scottish Highland cattle—this unique experience promises a relaxed and cozy holiday stay.

The Maiensäss is rustic and romantic at the same time. It dates back to 1909 and was carefully renovated in 2001. A traditional soapstone stove (with gas heating available) provides a warm and inviting atmosphere in the living room. Cooking is done on a wood-burning stove (gas stove also available), and firewood can be chopped yourself. There is no running water in the cabin, but a wooden well with fresh mountain spring water is located right in front of the cabin. A grill is available for free use on the sun terrace.

The living room features a dining table and a double bed. The kitchen is equipped with a wood/gas stove, the bedroom has a double bed, two single beds, and two mattresses on the bedroom loft. The simple toilet is located outside directly next to the cabin, and a solar-powered shower is also available. The rustic Maiensäss has no electricity. Bedding is provided and included in the price.

Pets are welcome upon request.

In summer, the Maiensäss is accessible by car (toll road on the Alpstrasse). In winter, it can be reached on foot or with snowshoes/touring skis from Siat in about 45 minutes. A driving permit can be obtained directly from the owner (daily permit CHF 10.00 / weekly permit CHF 20.00 / monthly permit CHF 30.00).

Our farm in Siat is an organic operation run according to organic guidelines. In the idyllic surroundings, apart from apple trees, Scottish Highland cattle, and small animals like geese, chickens, sheep, and bees, find a wonderful home.

The organic farm is managed by Paul Cahenzli, who passionately and energetically develops the business. His sister Salome Cahenzli brings her creativity and enthusiasm to agrotourism. Together, they ensure that the farm remains a place where tradition and innovation go hand in hand.
