On the border with Italian-speaking Switzerland, people appreciate the uncomplicated atmosphere, the spirit of famous painters, the nature and culture of a pass landscape. The fascinating interplay of light and shadow has always attracted various artists. Giovanni Segantini chose Maloja as his last home and subject for so many nature paintings. Giovanni Giacometti, the father of Alberto Giacometti, also worked here. Their spirit still inspires exhibitions, readings and concerts in the Belvedere tower or in the Chiesa Bianca. The small pass village on the border with the unspoilt Bergell is popular with hikers, art lovers and families. The Sentiero Segantini invites you to get to know the village of Maloja better. The pizza-baking course for children can be booked at the Hotel Schweizerhaus, there are adventures to be had at the "Capel - the smugglers' trail" adventure park, the "Kukuk" playground is a delight for every child and the Cavloccio lake at 1907 metres invites you to take a dip.
